 Every dog deserves to live a life free of cruelty, with a warm place to lay their head, a clean bowl of water, a healthy bowl of food and a family that loves and treats them with respect. That is my goal at Local Dog Rescue, to ensure every dog is placed with the best family possible.Please keep in mind that most of the rescue dogs are strays, orphaned or surrendered by owners so their breed and temperament is often unknown. The best I can do is guess to determine their breed and work with them to learn their behaviours. It is possible each dog may have had bad experiences in the past that can be triggered by events I am not aware of. Note: If you're looking for an "outdoor" dog or one to let roam loose in the country, this is not the place to be searching. The dogs for adoption here are beautiful, intelligent creatures that deserve constant human interaction, care and guidance. I adopt only to those seeking an indoor companion, regardless of the dogs size or breed. Thank you for understanding. They're now tall and thin and their coats have changed from the curly puffballs in their early pics to a nice shiny flat coat, much like the black lab. At this point we have no idea what breed they might be or how big they might get. Note: Because puppies cannot be spayed and neutered until they are 6 months of age, they will not be adopted outside of the city as I have no way of ensuring they are fixed at the appropriate time. While he was a perfect gentleman in every way, he was a bit too rough with the familiy's little puppy. This big loveable boy is back and looking for his forever home...
